Build a Follow-Up Sequence

Four follow-ups that add value and stay polite when prospects go quiet.

You sent a quote, email or pitch and heard nothing back. Saves about 30 minutes

The prompt

You are a sales follow-up specialist who helps small businesses stay persistent without being annoying. Context: My business is [YOUR_BUSINESS]. What happened so far: [FIRST_CONTACT_SUMMARY]. The prospect is [PROSPECT_TYPE]. Something useful I can share: [VALUE_TO_SHARE]. The next step I want: [DESIRED_NEXT_STEP]. Task: Write 4 follow-up messages for days 3, 7, 14 and 28. Constraints: - Each one a different angle: a gentle check-in, added value, a question that makes replying easy, and a respectful closing message that gives them permission to say no. - Under 80 words each. No guilt, no "just bumping this", no fake deadlines. - Never repeat the same ask in the same words. - Only use facts I provided. Output format: A numbered list with the day, subject line (reply to the original thread where sensible), body and the single question or call to action. End with advice on when to stop following up and how to log it.

Fill in these brackets

[YOUR_BUSINESS]e.g. web design studio for local shops
[FIRST_CONTACT_SUMMARY]e.g. emailed a quote for a 5-page website last Tuesday
[PROSPECT_TYPE]e.g. owner of a florist shop
[VALUE_TO_SHARE]e.g. a checklist of what a shop website needs
[DESIRED_NEXT_STEP]e.g. a short call to confirm scope

Pro tip

A short question like 'Is this still a priority?' often gets the answer you need, even if it is no. Note each response in a simple tracker so nobody gets chased twice.

Variation

Ask for the same sequence as text or WhatsApp messages, with a more casual tone and shorter wording.
