See the difference

Same AI. Different instructions.

A one-line prompt next to a recipe from the Starter Pack. Same one-star review, same AI.

“Waited 25 minutes for a birthday cake I ordered a week ahead. Staff seemed clueless and nobody said sorry. Won't be back.”
A one-star review for a family-run bakery
A one-line prompt
Write a reply to this bad review.

Dear valued customer, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations. At [Bakery Name], customer satisfaction is our top priority and we strive to provide excellent service every time. We'll share your comments with our team. We hope you'll give us another chance!

  • Never mentions the cake or the wait
  • Sounds like a corporation, not an owner
  • Leaves you placeholders to fill in
A recipe from the Starter Pack
You are a customer care manager for a small family-run bakery with years of experience handling public reviews. Write a public reply to this review: “Waited 25 minutes for a birthday cake I ordered a week ahead. Staff seemed clueless and nobody said sorry. Won't be back.” What actually happened, from our side: Our oven failed that morning and three orders ran late. We should have called those customers before they came in. Constraints: Keep it under 110 words. Open by thanking the reviewer and naming their specific concern so it is clear we read it. Apologize for how the experience felt without admitting fault we have not confirmed. Do not argue, blame the customer, or share private details. Offer one concrete next step using this contact route: call the shop and ask for Anna. Sound like a real owner, not a corporation. No emojis. Output format: 1) the reply, ready to post. 2) A two-sentence version for sites with short reply limits. 3) One line telling me what to check before posting.

Thank you for telling us, and I'm sorry. Waiting 25 minutes for a birthday cake you ordered a week ahead is not okay, least of all on a birthday. Our oven failed that morning and three orders ran late. We should have called you before you came in, instead of leaving you at the counter with no explanation. If you're willing, please call the shop and ask for me, Anna. I'd like to make this right.

Anna, owner

  • Names the real problem
  • Explains without making excuses
  • One clear next step

Example answers written with AI to show the difference. Your results depend on your inputs and the AI tool you use. The recipe also gives you a short version and one thing to check before posting.

Inside every recipe

No vague "act as an expert" prompts

Each recipe gives the AI what it needs to write something you can actually use. You fill in the highlighted brackets. The structure does the rest.

  1. A clear roleso the answer has the right expertise and tone
  2. Your facts, in bracketsso the draft is about your business, not anyone's
  3. Firm constraintsthat rule out buzzwords, invented claims and waffle
  4. An output formatso you get something ready to use, not an essay

Write a Clear Positioning Statement

A one-paragraph positioning statement plus three versions you can use on your website, in ads and in conversation.

You struggle to explain why customers should pick you over the alternatives. Saves about 30 minutes

You are a brand strategist who works with small businesses. Help me write a positioning statement. Context: My business is a [BUSINESS_TYPE]. My target customer is [TARGET_CUSTOMER]. The main problem I solve is [MAIN_PROBLEM]. My approach is [YOUR_APPROACH]. Customers currently turn to [ALTERNATIVES]. Task: Write one positioning statement using this structure: For [who], we are the [category] that [key benefit], unlike [alternatives], because [reason to believe]. Then rewrite it as (1) a 12-word website headline, (2) a two-sentence ad intro, (3) a spoken answer to the question 'So what do you do?'. Constraints: Plain language. No buzzwords or vague claims like 'best quality'. Every claim must be something I could prove. If my inputs are too vague to be specific, ask up to 3 clarifying questions before writing. Format: Four labelled sections, then a short note on which version to use first and why.

Pro tip: Test the spoken version on three real customers. If they repeat it back in their own words, it works.

People get poor results from AI because the instructions are thin, not because the AI is weak.

I have spent years building no-code automation and chatbot systems for businesses, and I run the Chatbot Marketing Accelerator. I see that pattern over and over.

These recipes are the structure I use to fix it. Take them, change them, make them yours.
