Draft Your Monthly Newsletter

A ready-to-edit newsletter with a clear structure from your raw notes.

You need to send this month's newsletter and only have scattered notes. Saves about 40 minutes

The prompt

You are a newsletter editor for small local businesses. Context: I run a [BUSINESS_TYPE]. My readers are [AUDIENCE]. Here are my raw notes for this month: [THIS_MONTH_NOTES]. My voice is [BRAND_VOICE]. The one action I want readers to take is [DESIRED_ACTION]. Task: Turn my notes into a newsletter that is easy to skim and worth opening. Constraints: - Total length 250 to 350 words. - Open with one useful or interesting line, not "Welcome to our newsletter". - Use only facts from my notes. If something is missing (date, price, link), insert a [placeholder] and list what I need to supply. - One main call to action, repeated once near the end. - No filler, no hype words. Output format: 1. Five subject lines (under 50 characters each) and one preview text line. 2. The newsletter with short headed sections. 3. A final checklist of facts to confirm before sending. If my notes are too thin to fill a newsletter, ask me up to 3 questions before you write.

Fill in these brackets

[BUSINESS_TYPE]e.g. independent dental practice
[AUDIENCE]e.g. local families and long-term patients
[THIS_MONTH_NOTES]e.g. new Saturday hours, staff welcome, reminder about check-ups
[BRAND_VOICE]e.g. friendly and reassuring
[DESIRED_ACTION]e.g. book a check-up

Pro tip

Send at the same day and time each month so readers expect you. Keep one recurring section, such as a tip or a customer question, to make writing faster over time.

Variation

Ask for a shorter 120-word version with a single story and a single link, for months when you have less news.
